Michaela Konrad about her creative process:
Pencil drawing lies at the heart of my creative work. It creates a visual representation of my concept development, detailed research and artistic position. It also serves as the starting point for my limited editions of screen and offset prints, for my paintings and my work in digital media.
Creative work is a process that requires both time and concentration – time to delve deeper and question your own thought patterns and concepts. The spatial and visual concentration that I put into my work demands a high degree of contemplation and attention. This also entails immersing myself in slowness and overcoming my impatience. In my quest to create clear forms and precise outlines, the eraser is just as important as the pencil.
